Mobile vs. Remote Online Notarization: Which Is Right for You?

TrustPoint offers two ways to get documents notarized. Understanding the difference upfront will save time and ensure your appointment goes smoothly.

Mobile Notarization means Lisa travels to you. She comes to your home, office, hospital, care facility, or any agreed-upon location within the service area. This is ideal for loan signings, real estate closings, estate planning documents, and any situation where wet-ink signatures and an in-person notarial seal are required.

Remote Online Notarization (RON) is conducted entirely via a secure video call. You and your documents are on screen; Lisa verifies your identity through an approved identity-proofing platform and applies a digital notarial seal that is legally valid in all 50 states under Florida Statute Chapter 117. RON is ideal for clients outside the local service area, last-minute signings, or any situation where travel is inconvenient.

Not sure which to choose? Most loan signings and real estate transactions require mobile notarization — your lender or title company will specify which. For personal documents, powers of attorney, and affidavits, either option is typically acceptable. When in doubt, call (407) 784-3835 before booking.

How the Booking Process Works

Booking with TrustPoint takes approximately three minutes. The online booking wizard walks you through four steps:

Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive an email with the appointment details. Lisa will also send a reminder the day of your appointment.

What to Prepare Before Your Appointment

Being prepared before the notary arrives — or before connecting online — keeps the appointment efficient and avoids rescheduling fees.

Service Area Coverage

Mobile notary services are available throughout the greater Orlando metro area, including Orange County, Osceola County, Seminole County, and Lake County. Specific cities served include Orlando, Kissimmee, Sanford, Altamonte Springs, Winter Park, Ocoee, and Lake Buena Vista, among others.

Remote online notarization (RON) is available to clients anywhere in the United States. Florida's RON statute permits notarization of documents for out-of-state clients, and the resulting notarization is legally recognized in all 50 states.

Travel fees apply for mobile appointments. The base travel fee is included in the listed service price. Extended travel outside the standard service area may incur additional fees, which will be quoted before confirmation.

24/7 Availability

TrustPoint operates seven days a week, with appointments available outside standard business hours. Early morning, evening, and weekend slots are regularly available for professionals who cannot accommodate midday appointments. Last-minute and same-day bookings are accepted subject to availability — call (407) 784-3835 to confirm urgent scheduling.
